Primary Fundamentals

Acceptance

The practise of acceptance can be a life changing practise, we can be very judgemental in our day-to-day attitudes and when things seldom go to plan, or people don’t want to follow certain guidelines, advise or information our ego can become inflated and challenged. The ability to approach these circumstances from a place of non judgementality and furthermore an attitude of acceptance, not good, not bad just accept a situation for exactly what it is, will lessen any negative impacts to our day to day.

When we experience our emotions, just exactly as they are, but we apply acceptance that we can only control our own state, and only hope to influence others states, then we can become far more logical in our thinking patterns.

Gratitude

The practise of gratitude or the attitude of gratitude has many health benefits, Scholars, spiritual leaders, and scientists throughout history have deliberated on numerous studies that have proven how being virtuose and regularly being thankful for all the good things in our lives will improve our overall health & Wellbeing.

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance”- Eckhart Tolle

    • Increased happiness

    • Life satisfaction

    • Less materialistic

    • Better sleep

    • Less fatigue

    • Lower levels of inflammation.

    • Gratitude helps to disconnect from toxic, negative emotions and enforces a more gracious approach to our day to day.

Mindful Behaviour

The practise of Mindful behaviours, are you mindful or is your mind full? The definition of mindfulness is the mental state achieved by focused awareness on the present moment, whilst calmly accepting one’s feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations. We all live in a very busy world, where we are more than capable of being on the go 24/7 confined in the doing bracket of life instead of taking stock and remembering that we are human beings, not human doings.

We must learn to slow down from the world of multi-tasking and take stock of our priceless time.

“When we talk, we are repeating what we already know, but when we listen, we learn something new”- Dalai Lama

    • Meditation

    • Breathing exercises

    • Intention setting

    • Mindful eating

    • Mindful pause of action

    • Mindful movement & exercise.

Logic

There is no universal agreement as to what defines logic, as what may seem logical to one person may not seem logical to another, however there is usually a question or an action that will lead to a conclusion, and the route to the best conclusion is found via making a logical assumption that will suit all parties. Cause and effect like law and order are based around logic, it is not acceptable or logical during your normal working day (unless you’re a professional combat sports athlete) to physically strike or hurt a colleague, we all know that fire can burn, so putting your bare hand into an open fireplace would not be a logical decision, waiting for a busy road to quieten down before crossing is a logical decision.

    • Make peace with your past, so it doesn’t spoil your future

    • What others think of you is none of your business

    • Time heals almost everything, give time some time

    • No one else is in control of your happiness

    • Don’t compare your life to others, you don’t know what their journey is about

    • Stop overthinking, its ok not to have all the answers

    • Smile, you don’t own the world’s problems.

Proactivity

The behavioural self-initiated action, to resolving or pre-emptive problem solving of potential issues before they have occurred.

Being proactive means taking control of, or causing something to happen, rather than just adapting to a situation reactively after the event.

“The key is not to prioritise what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities”- Steven Covey

Consistency

Being consistent, is referred to as the ability to adhere to a set of principles in a steadfast way, if you want to achieve anything of value or meaning in your life, you must remain consistent in that belief, regardless of if this is in a personal or a business relationship.

Being consistent is not a skill or a talent, you, and only you, can be consistent towards a goal.

“Consistency is what transforms average into excellence”

Communication

Communication is the transference of information from one place, person or group to another

We are constantly communicating every minute of every day, and the internal communication with ourselves is probably the most important.

We learn to read body language as a means of communication, facial expressions, a thumbs up for accepting or a thumbs down if were not happy, communication or the breakdown of communication between parties may have catastrophic consequences like War!! so, it’s our ability to communicate clearly, without the requirement for interpretation that will help to keep communication channels open.

“Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity”- Nat Turner

Resilience

The capacity to recover from difficulties, the process of adapting well in the face of:

  • Adversity

  • Trauma

  • Tragedy

  • Threats

  • Significant sources of Stress.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is in the courage to remain resilient that counts”- Winston Churchill
